The bright colours and vibrant locations also add the feel good factor which is included in Pop music videos. The clothing that is used is also casual clothing this creates a familiar feel for the audience and means that it applies to a larger audience rather than being dressed in a suit or formal clothing which normally wouldn’t b the case. This means the audience can relate to the topic which the song in referring to. Pop videos are normally done in locations which are familiar to the audience and are often performance based videos. Because of this, the audiences are able to feel the way when watching and listening to Pop music videos. This is because it often has a good feel too it, in the way that it is usually a love story or either a way in which the performer is having a good time. Pop is one of the most popular genres in music entertainment. They also have darker tone and a more meaningful message which can be inspirational rather than a fun Pop song.
These songs are different to the Pop genre as they do not use bright colours and often opt for darker colours like black and reds. They do this by including a verse that can be sung by another performer, this creates interest as there is more than one performer in the song and so both sets of fans are attracted to the song. They also often use an extra performer to advertise the song. This genre is often concept and performance based in the way that the performer is literally rapping the lyrics on screen. This is good as most music listeners are from a younger generation which means it is a genre that they will likely choose over something like Country. Rap and Hip Hop is another popular genre as it is very popular with teenagers and a younger audience rather than an older generation. However other genres were also looked at so that we were able to get a feel for other music tastes and to see if there were any other conventions that were needed or that we liked. Taking a look at existing examples of music videos would allow our own production to have the current codes and conventions that would make it a music video, for this, the genre Rap and Hip Hop was specifically looked at as the music 'Chiddy Bang - Opposite of Adults' fits in with this genre. We also had to take a look at the budgeting and equipment that we needed, along with revising camera angles and such, which all went into the pre production of the video production to make it all possible. For the production of the music video we took a look at different examples of current videos so that we would be able to come up with several conventions that were necessary to us.
The purpose of this is having a visual piece to go alongside with a soundtrack of our choosing. The type of production which I am making is a music video production for the song 'Chiddy Bang - Opposite of Adults'.
